HPSD Parent
The
Nutcracker
The Hyde Park School of Dance presents a family-friendly production
of The Nutcracker each December. A south side favorite,
the show features 100 of the School’s students, guest artists,
and a Pre Ballet Holiday Dance with some of our youngest students.
Spring
Concert
The annual Spring Concert is a lively end-of-year event which includes
performances by all classes. This year the performance will be held
on Saturday, May 10 at 4:00pm at Kenwood Academy Auditorium.

Level
41
In 2008 we celebrated dance with a gala presentation of Level 41. This dazzling 20-year retrospective of choreography by artistic director August Tye featured guest dancers and musicians, as well as our own Tygo Next Generation youth company and HPSD’s company in residence, Tyego Dance Project.
Le Printemps
Sauvage
This special production featured our original one-act ballet for
children, Wild Things, as well as new works by HPSD faculty,
and selected student choreography.
Student Choreography
The training at HPSD includes more than just dancing. The School’s
emphasis on original choreography offers students the opportunity
to actively engage in the creative process as they perform the works
of their teachers and learn the art of choreography themselves.
HPSD students are encouraged to present their original choreography
each year during Student Choreography Showcase as well as during
Spring Concert.
