Formerly the Pre-Professional & Young Dancer Intensives, now one program with graduated age/skill groups.

Designed for motivated dancers ages 8–18, this four-week intensive fosters growth in technique, artistry, and confidence. Dancers train in age and experience-based groups to refine their technique in ballet, contemporary, jazz, breaking, studio hip hop, yoga, musical theater, and West African dance, while working toward a culminating performance on Friday, July 31st at 6pm.

Advanced dancers will have the opportunity to work with guest faculty from companies and institutions around the Chicago Land Area.  

Students will be evaluated the morning of their first week of attendance in a class that corresponds to their age range. Students will then be assigned to one of three level groups - A, B, or C. Students will take all weekly classes with their assigned group. 

We recommend bringing a water bottle, yoga mat, hand towel,  pen & paper, snacks, and lunch. Students under 12 must eat lunch at the studios; students 12-17 must have written parent/guardian permission to leave the building for lunch.

Weekly enrollment is available. Attendance during week four and at least one other week required for participation in HPSD's Summer Showcase performance. (Some excused absences permitted.)
